The painting ‘Wanawake Pamoja’ (Kiswahili: Women Together) depicts three women in vibrant, bold colours, moving together in a scene of everyday life and cooperation. Their bodies are depicted dynamically and stylised, while the intense red, blue and yellow tones create an atmosphere of energy, community and joie de vivre. The women appear to be connected to each other – through movement, proximity and shared activity – symbolising strength, solidarity and mutual support. The image conveys the idea that joint action and cohesion unleash a special power.
