Hi, I am Happy Robert!

Happy Robert is a talented female visual artist hailing from Songea, a region in southern Tanzania. Currently residing and working in Dar es Salaam, Happy's passion for art was ignited by her family members and friends who witnessed her skill in crafting beads and drawings. She has a deep love for her work, which has brought her immense success and recognition worldwide.

Despite the challenges of finding clients, Happy remains dedicated to her craft. She is proud to be a female artist in a field predominantly dominated by male artists. Happy's artistic focus lies in painting, with a particular emphasis on portraying the essence of females and their emotions. Her vibrant and bold use of colors brings out the beauty and feelings of her subjects.

Since 2017, Happy has had the privilege of being mentored at Haji Chilonga Studios, where she has honed her skills and gained inspiration from renowned local artists such as Evarist Chikawe, Cuthbert Semgoja, Kaija, and others. Her body of work has been showcased in various exhibitions in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Arusha, Nairobi, and even in Europe. One of her notable achievements was her first solo exhibition at the Banana Hill Art Gallery in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2019.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Happy has also contributed to the arts community as a facilitator for the My Trash My Treasure project. This initiative, sponsored by the Swiss embassy, aimed to promote environmental consciousness through the arts in Tanzania. Happy's involvement in this project highlights her commitment to using her artistic talents for a greater cause.

Happy Robert's journey as an artist is a testament to her passion, dedication, and talent. She continues to make a mark in the art world, both locally and internationally, and her unique perspective and expressive artworks captivate audiences wherever they are exhibited.
